Individual Candy Corn Fruit Salad Dessert Recipe #SundaySupper
The perfect fruity dessert for any Halloween celebration! The kids love it, and even the adults too!
Halloween is seriously one of my favorite holidays!
I love getting the kids dressed up to trick or treat, carving or decorating pumpkins and making fun Halloween themed foods for snack or dinner the weekend before the holiday to celebrate.
Today's post is one of those fun Halloween recipes. It's actually super easy too, which makes it even better!
Are you a candy corn lover? My daughter Ella, and I are!
This Candy Corn Fruit Salad dessert doesn't actually taste like candy corn, but just layered in individual serving dishes to look like candy corn. We had to top it off with some pieces of candy corn though, to make it even more festive!
Ella is 10 and just started to be more interested in cooking, baking and spending more time in the kitchen!
She helped make this recipe and your kiddos can too. Even the little ones! They can help whip the cream with the hand mixer, stir in the fruit, and layer it in their own dishes for serving. It's so much fun to get them interested in trying and making new recipes!
I used Dixie Crystals Powdered Sugar in this fruit salad dessert!
Dixie Crystals is a Southern brand that's been around for almost 100 years. A brand that most of us know and trust!
Family time in the kitchen and making new memories when creating recipes is a goal at Dixie Crystals. It's also a goal in my family!
Dixie Crystals website has 1000's of time tested recipes, videos and cookbooks! There's something for everyone.
You can also find recipes, crafts, printables, edible art projects and more just for the kiddos at Kids in the Kitchen! Ella and I had so much fun browsing and finding new ideas and inspiration!
If you like contests, stop over at the Dixie Crystals Scary Scramble Contest here! Unscramble the words for a chance to win a Kitchen Aid Mixer. I still don't own one of those, but it would've been perfect for making this recipe.
The main components of this recipe are Dixie Crystals Powdered Sugar, mascarpone cheese, whipping cream and vanilla extract. After that's all whipped together, then you separate into bowls, add the food coloring and fruit, layer and serve!
The mascarpone adds a delicious burst of flavor to the fruit salad. I also use the initial cream mixture as cream puff filling, layer it in a dish with berries, or on top of ice cream or cake.
It's simply delicious and unique!
As you can see in the photo below, the colors in the fruit blend match with the cream perfectly. You can even add marshmallows in the white cream if your family loves marshmallows.
Ella isn't much for creamy desserts, but this is one she happens to love! We will be making it together again at our Halloween themed dinner and this time I'll let her handle making the whole recipe!
