Tuna Burger with Cilantro Garlic Aioli Recipe and Summer Grilling Party with Red Gold Tomatoes
Hello everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! We were busy cleaning house, planning menus and getting the yard together for our housewarming BBQ this coming weekend! It's been almost 7 months since we purchased our Habitat for Humanity home, it's about time we celebrate! We've been so incredibly blessed with our home, and we love having our own space and yard! It will be great showing it off to friends and family!
Speaking of BBQ's, Red Gold Tomatoes is having a Summer Grillin' Party over on Facebook! Through July 23rd, you can head over there and register to win some great prizes! They are also sharing some great recipes, grilling tips and videos! Click here to check out all the fun!!
Today's recipe is inspired by Red Gold Tomatoes. Have you ever made tuna burgers? I haven't until now, and oh boy, have I been missing out! These burgers pack tons of flavor, and are SO cheap to make!! I have been sleeping on them for sure! I can't wait to try some different flavors! As you can see, my burger patties got a little large, you can always make six burgers instead of four if you prefer them smaller. The Cilantro Garlic Aioli is to die for and it's the perfect topping for this burger! Enjoy!
Tuna Burger with Cilantro Garlic Aioli
4-6 burgers
What you need:
2- 5 ounce cans tuna, drained
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup onion, finely diced
1- 14.5 ounce can Red Gold Petite Diced Tomatoes with Lime Juice and Cilantro
2 eggs, beaten
a pinch of each salt and pepper
4 hamburger buns, toasted under the broiler
1 tablespoon olive oil
3/4 cup mayo
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
a pinch of each salt and pepper
Directions:
Drain the canned tomatoes through a strainer and squeeze the juice from the tomatoes until most liquid is removed.
Combine tuna, bread crumbs, onion, tomatoes, beaten eggs, salt and pepper in a bowl. Shape into 4 patties and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile in a small food processor, add mayo, garlic, cilantro, salt and pepper and process until combined. Refrigerate until serving.
Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Add the tuna patties, and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Spread the Cilantro Garlic Aioli on a toasted bun, add tuna patty and serve!
