Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe
Sorry, folks! All New Year's resolutions are out the door with today's recipe! I just couldn't resist sharing this salted caramel goodness, especially with Valentine's day coming up!
Do you have a favorite cake or brownie recipe? Can you imagine this salted caramel sauce drizzled over the top? Oh yes, definitely heavenly and decadent! Also great with a brownie ice cream sundae or even drizzled in your coffee, hot cocoa or cappuccino!
I've always stayed away from making caramel sauces. I tend to stay away from making sweets in general, usually. Well, with recipes as easy as this one you'll want to become the next Betty Crocker! I swear! The sea salt adds the perfect touch of saltiness to balance out the sweetness. Just perfect!
What would you use this sauce for?
Salted Caramel Sauce
by
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 8 tablespoons salted butter, cubed
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
Instructions
Heat a medium sized saucepan over medium heat.
Add granulated sugar and stir often. After a few minutes the sugar should start forming clumps, then melt completely.
While sugar is melting, heat cream in the microwave but do not boil. Set aside.
Once the sugar is completely melted, add the cream and stir for a minute.
Remove from heat and add butter. Stir until melted, then add sea salt and stir.
Drizzle over ice cream, cakes, brownies or eat by the spoonful! Refrigerate leftovers. Microwave to soften before using.
