Granny Gertrude's Blueberry Rice Pudding Recipe
A delicious old fashioned dessert from my favorite vintage church cookbook that's also great with strawberries, cherries, blackberries or raspberries!
Who loves old church cookbooks??
Me! And I'm sure many of you do too!
I swear they have the best tried and true recipes and if you can decipher the language and certain ingredients that were used, the recipe is sure to be tasty!
I've been going through all my favorite church cookbooks lately and cataloging recipes digitally on a secret board on Pinterest and came across this delicious dessert!
I have to confess. Gertrude isn't actually my Granny, but someone's Granny I'm sure. I just couldn't help but to name the recipe after her since it was hers originally!
This recipe reminds me of my Mom and I'm using one of my late Grandmother's gold forks in the photo! So it's all tied together with Grandma's and Granny's and their love for cooking and baking!
My all time favorite rice pudding recipe can be found here! That is my Mom's recipe I grew up eating and my daughter now loves it too!
This new recipe packed full of fresh blueberries is a close second to that one. Each bite is perfect with the sweet and creamy custard, along with the pop of the juicy blueberries!
We will be making this again and again at our house. I can't wait to experiment and try it with different berries!
Not only do I have this wonderful recipe for you today, but I also have 5 other Granny recipes from my blogging buddies!
