Spicy Garlic and Basil Sesame Noodles Recipe
Simple and delicious Asian inspired side or meatless main dish! Perfect for busy weeknights!
My eight year old, Ella has been a somewhat picky eater these last few years. It's been a struggle getting her to try new things and when she does, she doesn't like any of them. She came to me the other day and expressed how much she'd love to help in the kitchen with prep and cooking. I can't even begin to tell you how excited that made me! She started paging through some cookbooks for meals she might like, and today's recipe was created using some recipe ideas she found.
She even branched out at our local Mongolian grill tonight. Instead of her typical stir fry with marinara sauce, she decided to do a stir fry with traditional flavors instead. She ended up adding red onions, cabbage, corn, shrimp, steak, ham and crab and loved every bite of it!
She helped cut all the green onions for this amazing recipe, helped mix up the sauce and was my taste tester! Even with the bit of spiciness in this recipe, she still gobbled it down while drinking a glass of milk. Who knows, maybe I have a future chef on my hands!
This recipe has tons of flavor from the garlic, basil and sesame oil. If you prefer some protein, feel free to add some grilled chicken or shrimp when serving. This is ready in the amount of time it takes the pasta to cook, which makes it perfect for lunch or a quick dinner! This will definitely be on the menu again!
