Jutta from Hungry Little Girl contacted me awhile back asking if I'd like to participate with her and some other blogger friends in a "Surprise Recipe Swap".
Each month we are assigned a different blog to choose a recipe from, then we cook it, and post about on our blog. I was super excited to participate and couldn't wait to get started.
This month I was matched up with Jutta and her awesome blog, Hungry Little Girl.
I just love browsing through her recipes and after much consideration, I ended up choosing her recipe for Korean Ground Beef Lettuce Wraps!
Let me say, I absolutely loved this recipe and was so glad I tried it.
The flavors were delicious and it is such a quick and easy meal. I love that the ground beef and rice are wrapped up in the lettuce leaf. The lettuce adds such a perfect crunch when biting into it!
We also love eating it as a rice bowl served with some thinly sliced carrots, cucumber and a fried over easy egg on top! Such deliciousness!

What is in ground beef lettuce wraps?
- Ground beef: One of my absolute favorite meats to use in recipes! I buy 90% lean ground beef in bulk at Sam's Club, then package into one pound packages with freezer paper for our meals!
- Garlic: My love for garlic is real. I use it in almost everything I cook and I love the health benefits it offers. Garlic is part of the onion, leek and chive family. It's great for heart health and contains many vitamins and minerals.
- Fresh ginger: You don't need much of this amazing ingredient to add some delicious flavor! I love the health benefits including reducing nausea, reducing muscle pain and soreness and helping with loss of appetite. It's great in sweet or savory dishes. Find out how to peel, chop and grate ginger here!
- Sesame oil: This edible oil is made from sesame seeds. It has a very distinctive nutty aroma, it's delicious and it's a healthy fat. Tanzania is the world's leading producer of this type of oil.
